Terence Trent D’arby ficou conhecido nos anos 80 por ser um artista completo, pois ele mesmo produz seus álbuns e toca a maioria dos instrumentos.

E foi com o single “Wishing Well” que estourou nas paradas musicais do mundo todo em 1987, em seu álbum de estréia “Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D'Arby”

Aqui no Brasil, tocou bastante nas rádios, exatamente na mesma época que o Freestyle também começou a ser tocado, inclusive nas casas noturnas da época.
